Since my mom gave me my first Fisher Price camera when I was 7, I’ve always had a love for the art of photography. I would photograph nature, my family and even my Barbie Dolls. I still have those 4×6 images in a photo album. It was my first portfolio. I have to say…not bad for a seven year old with an indestructible plastic camera!
In high school I studied art and photography. I was the self-appointed class photographer capturing all of the events that happened senior year. I still treasure those images. College was the same way, taking classes in art, photography, computer graphics and at the same time documenting all of the events in my life.
After graduating Long Island University Southampton with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1999, I worked in the photography industry at Jonathan Penney, Inc, a fine art photography printer in Center Moriches. While there I was able to study and learn from all of the beautiful images that were sent in by photographers from across the country. I also attended seminars with some of these award winning portrait photographers from the northeastern United States. In 2001 I started my business.
Since I opened my doors, I have married my husband Marc and had four children; though life is busy I still strive to master the art of photography. In 2005 I became a Certified Professional Photographer with Professional Photographers of America. I love what I do and I want to be able to provide my clients with the most exquisite and cherished images I can.
The studio is located in my home in Center Moriches. Outdoor sessions are also available in my town, on my property or on location at a park, beach or your home. All sessions are by appointment and usually scheduled three weeks in advance although last minute appointments can sometimes be accommodated.
Fine Art (full) sessions last one to two hours depending on your child. Allowing time for him/her to warm up to me and the environment, I’m able to capture your child’s true personality. Two weeks later you are invited back to the studio to view the images from your portrait session and place your order. Mini sessions and seasonal portrait specials are also available. To stay up-to-date with all studio events, please sign up for the e-newsletter using the link below or the contact tab at the top of the page.
Call or e-mail the studio today for questions regarding where the photos can be taken, parental involvement, the use of props and the best time of day for your session. I look forward to meeting you and thank you for your interest in Cara Hromada Photography, Inc.
